Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday: An Opportunity to Serve

Hello Friends, Followers, and Visitors,

I trust you are well. And, I hope your writing week has been productive. Mine has been so, so!

A project I started working on last year languishes within my in-tray. Guilty knowledge of its existence niggles at the back of my mind. However, I have another project that I want to get off the ground, which is time sensitive. To be honest, I should have started it already since the time for its debut draws ever closer.

Will I get it done in time, or will this be yet another case of abandoning an idea, or putting this project off for a later (and not so opportune) time?

Our project’s progress is down to us. It’s down to us to muster up motivation and self-discipline. It’s incumbent upon us to seek inspiration and draw up our creative output from the wellspring of personal innovation.

There are times however, when “Life” happens, and our priorities must change to accommodate it. And sometimes the needs and demands of others (whether family or friends) impinge upon our time, seek to oust us from our throne of creativity and imprison us within the dismal dungeons of mundane responsibility.

Today, I am giving God thanks because even though my main writing activity this week would not be of my choosing and does not further my projects, it still represents an opportunity to use my writing ability in service of a family member. It still represents an opportunity to practice the art of clear communication, and make my voice heard on behalf of someone in need. And, as I read somewhere, no writing exercise is ever wasted!

What are you thankful about this week?

Best wishes,

Carol
