Thankful Thursday: (for Self-Publishing Platforms)

Hello fellow writers/bloggers,

I have to say that after years and years of telling myself and others that I wanted to be a writer, and after years and years of hardly writing anything to speak of, only producing a poem or an article once in a blue moon, I am thankful that I eventually managed to acquire a consistent writing habit.

And despite many years of procrastination, and hiding my light under a bushel (so to speak!), I am thankful to God for his grace in enabling me to become motivated enough, and disciplined enough, to produce two non-fiction books (see details below). I am thankful for the honour of being able to speak into the lives of my readers.

I am also so grateful to the Lord that I’m alive during this exciting era, where it is possible to self-publish my own products and feel that the quality of my endeavours can stand up to scrutiny, if compared to works that are traditionally published. I am thankful for the existence of self-publishing platforms that have enabled me to fulfil a long-standing dream.

There’s no doubt in my mind that if it were not for the open doors of possibility that self-publishing affords, I’d be trudging the bleak moors of traditional publishing houses, only to be chased away by the hounds of rejection!

Today, I am mega-thankful to all my blog followers and visitors who honour me with their presence and support my efforts with their comments and ‘likes’. And, ditto for the friendships made with other blog owners who’ve kindly affirmed my writing ability and appreciated my prayer support.
