I drown in grief.
I’m heartsick.
Oh, listen! It’s the cry of my dear people
reverberating through the country.
Is God no longer in Zion?
(Jeremiah 8:18-19 (The Message)
Hello dear friend,
If you’ve read my ABOUT page, you will be aware that this website has been created to try and obey my God-given mission – to gather His wounded lambs and sheep and tend to them.
Now there will be those who read this post today, to whom my message does not apply. However, I hope if you know anyone within your circle of influence, for whom this site is appropriate, that you will kindly signpost it to them.
I also suspect that there will also be those who perhaps do not wish to be identified or pigeonholed as ‘broken’, or ‘wounded’ or ‘hurt’. I get that!
And there may even be those, who’ve buried their hurts so deep, they are not even aware that they are in need of inner healing. But, there will be those who do know it, own it, seek inner healing, and have perhaps done so for years, yet they still have not got to the place of spiritual health and wholeness.
Whoever you are, and whatever category you fall within, I want you to know that it is possible to make a spiritual comeback from abuse, betrayal, failure, grief, or rejection. It is possible to heal and to move on with your life, into a place of ongoing spiritual health that is not fake, or only suface deep. However, dear reader, if you truly wish to obtain this prize, then the onus will be upon you!
- Do you long to experience the abundant life for which Jesus died so you may enjoy?
- Do you wish to let go of your anger, or depression, or the skewed perspective that has you pointing a finger of accusation at others?
- Do you wish to make yourself available to the one who can administer his sweet, soothing balm to your soul according to his schedule and directions, or are you bent on shielding that hurt, perpetually licking your wounds, and excusing your brokenness?
Perhaps you have wondered, or are still wondering whether it is possible to ‘forget’ your past, the offences of those who’ve trodden down your self-esteem, or the history of how you sustained your emotional wounds? Allow me to assure you with one word. Absolutely!
Listen to the following admission:
Lord, I don’t want to feel this way anymore. I thought that if my pain touched their lives, I’d feel better. I didn’t. I thought that by holding it over their heads, I’d feel better. I didn’t. I thought that by telling everyone what had been done to me, I’d feel better. I didn’t; it only cost me friends and kept the pain alive longer. I thought if only they’d acknowledge how wrong they’ve been (and how right I’ve been), I’d feel better. They didn’t, so I felt worse.
(From: Forgetting Your Past – Bob Gass)
Does the above mindset and attitude sound familiar? Can you relate? I know I can. I’ve been there.
Now listen to this:
I believe that there is no child of God who cannot be healed of the deepest, most horrendous wounds if they will learn three things: how to apply the balm of Gilead, how to follow the Great Physician’s instructions, and how to give his medicine time to work.
(Kay Arthur – Heal My Hurts)
Perhaps today you have reached your crisis point. Perhaps today you are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired about your psychological pain and woundedness. Perhaps today you’d like to turn over a new leaf and remove those pages of hurt and humiliation from your emotional history book.
My dear friend, if you are a child of God, a member of the Body of Christ, I trust you are aware that healing, wholeness and divine health comes as part of God’s covenant promises. I trust you are aware that because Jesus suffered in your stead, peace and well-being are available benefits within your salvation package.
However, there are conditions attached. You may recall that Joshua issued a challenge to the Children of Israel, after he’d led them into the Promised Land. He knew that Israel could only hold onto the blessings of their inheritance, if they continued to abide by God’s terms.
Now, as someone who wishes to abide (remain settled) in God’s promised land of permanent healing and wholeness, and to also bring others alongside with me, may I take this opportunity to issue to you today, Joshua’s self-same challenge? Choose you this day whom you will serve!
So, will it be yourself, or will it be Jehovah Rophe, the Lord God your healer?
Will you choose to continue to suffer needlessly, or will you opt to go on that self-humbling journey towards inner healing, spiritual health and wholeness?
Beloved friend, if you’ve been emotionally bruised and or broken, God’s healing hands are stretched out towards you today. I do hope you will choose to trust him and grant him wholehearted access.
With love,

Carol
