(a spiritual retreat for God’s wounded lambs/sheep)

…Gather my wounded lambs and sheep and tend to them, care for them.
The above words were spoken to me quite some years ago and I have always seen them as a direction from the Lord. I also see them as a challenge. One which I have stalled on, and agonised over, for many years.
When should I do this? How should I do this?
Am I qualified?
Well, not in the normal theological or pastoral sense! I have not gone to Bible School. I do not have a theological degree. My only qualifications are that:
- I know what it is be one of God’s wounded sheep
- Having allowed myself to be a ‘victim’ for many years, I’ve successfully shed that victim mentality and seek each day to walk as a victorious overcomer
- I care! I have a heart for wounded women in the body of Christ and a fervent desire to reach out to, and encourage them
- I believe God has called me to minister to women and I also believe that whom God calls, he equips!
And so, this website is being re-born as my tentative fleece, to try and be obedient to that commission and to see what God will do. Who knows where it will lead?
Now, so we are all on the same page, lambs speak of those who are new (or fairly new!) to the body of Christ and sheep represents those who have walked with the Lord for some time.
Are you a child of God, who feels hurt for whatever reason? Are you in need of compassionate spiritual care and support? Do you feel all alone, misunderstood, marginalised? Have you withdrawn yourself (whether temporarily or permanently), from church life? Then this website has been set up with you in mind.
If you have stumbled upon this space, then please don’t think it a coincidence. Maybe you’re in need of some soul care or soul surgery. Or maybe you are aware of someone who could benefit from what this website ministry seeks to offer.
Now I don’t want you to get me wrong. I won’t necessarily be sharing “peaches and cream” or “cotton wool and candy” posts. So, if you are only looking for somewhere to complain, or criticise other fellow members of the body of Christ, then this may not be the place for you.
However, if you sincerely love the Lord, are willing to mature as a child of God, would like some help doing so and/or pastoral care whilst you recover from your wounds, or if you need somewhere to retreat and rest from the harsh elements of your world, then please do come inside, and make yourself at home. You are most welcome!
With love,
